Founded on April 1, 2000, by Barbara S.Jenkins, the firm set its primary goal as providing the highest quality legal representation for ordinary people. Located in an historic building in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia, we practice in General District, Circuit and Juvenile & Domestic Relations District courts in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. We serve the counties of Amherst, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Nelson, Orange, Palmyra, and as well as other counties in Virginia, the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court. We also practice in the United States District Court in Charlottesville and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Our clients range from wealthy widows who request estate planning, to very young children with disabilities who need legal assistance to obtain services. We serve our clients’ needs by being accessible, explaining the particular legal matter carefully, and providing creative recommendations based on extensive experience and excellent legal research.

A substantial portion of the practice focuses on representing Spanish-speaking individuals involved in criminal and traffic proceedings. We are able to provide both staff and attorneys who speak Spanish and are able to translate documents.
